Aerial Active beginner’s workshop - 23 feb 14:30-16:45

Come join us for an introductory course on aerial yoga! Are you interested in taking aerial yoga lessons and want an introductory course? Are you a regular aerial yoga practitioner and would you like to take some more time to study the basic poses? This workshop is designed to build a strong foundation on aerial yoga practice. The practitioner will get familiar with the aerial fabric; basic poses and fundamental movements of aerial yoga will be taught in a safe and nurturing environment. Each pose and inversion will be broken down and explained. Detailed instructions will be given on body alignment, fabric position, padding for a comfortable workout. The practitioner will experience the fundamental aerial hangs and learn to use the fabric for various strengthening and lengthening exercises. After taking this workshop, you will be able to drop in any weekly aerial class! Level: No prior aerial or yoga experience necessary, open to all skill levels. Benefits: Aerial yoga makes you flexible, stronger with more endurance and trains your body-mind coordination. Aerial Strenght and Flexibility workshop - March 1, 14:00-16:15

Come join us in the hammocks for new impressive aerial acro – poses, flexibility training and strengthening , in this all-levels workshop! Instruction by Sophia Pavlou. After a successful workshop in November, Sophia teaches a second workshop, this time including a new focus point, flexibility training. The workshop will aim to provide the practitioner with knowledge over the tools and elements of aerial yoga that help him develop strength and an improved range of movement. The practitioner will be able then to benefit from this knowledge and increase the effectiveness of his weekly practice. Content: Part 1: Body and mind warm up. Strengthening workout. Focus on the core and upper body. Practicing new impressive aerial acrobatic figures on the fabric. Part 2: Flexibility workout. Focus on stretching safely and efficiently. Types of stretching. Introduction to PNF technique – workout. Executing aerial sequences on the fabric which are designed to help open up the body, cooling down body and mind. New input: Introduction and practice with PNF technique, a very effective stretching method which was developed initially for rehabilitation, and is an advanced stretching technique. Level: All levels, experience with basic the inversion pose (aerial yoga-monkey pose) is wished but not mandatory.
